Salt Lake City, UT, November 9, 2007 - Devon & Devon, the executive search firm division of locally headquartered SOS Staffing, says the predictions of tight labor pools into the first half of 2008 combined with the known shortage of local professional-level workers, has required it to continue looking out of state for talent.

Christine Kronkow, regional manager for Devon & Devon, says they are following the lead of Governor Jon Huntsman and his Utah Recruitment Initiative and continuing to reach out to experienced talent working outside the state of Utah. The Governor's Initiative promotes Utah as a great place to live and work in hopes of convincing potential candidates to relocate. "We have found it increasingly difficult to identify talent, especially at the higher levels. In order to find the professionals our clients are seeking, we're either sourcing from the currently employed or recruiting outside Utah." The Governor has asked private industry employers to commit to this initiativeDevon & Devon has signed the participation agreement, making that commitment.

Devon & Devon, which specializes in the direct placement of mid to executive-level professionals in varied disciplines, is used to being creative with its recruiting efforts in order to meet client needs. "Nine times out of ten the professional my client needs is currently employed. We've built our candidate pool by maintaining relationships with currently employed, active job seekers, and right now we're focusing those relationships out of state," says Tom Spradlin, Branch Manager of the Salt Lake City Devon & Devon office.

The marketing and media efforts developed by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development to promote job availability in Utah are aiding in Devon & Devon's national recruiting efforts. "It's a lot easier to draw candidates to Utah when I've got great marketing tools and media campaigns touting our great job market and amazing communities," comments Spradlin.
